Sitagliptin is an oral drug that reduces blood sugar (glucose) levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin is a member of a class of drugs that inhibit the enzyme, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) and are therefore called DPP-4 inhibitors.

Recommended Dosing. The recommended dose of JANUVIA is 100 mg once daily. JANUVIA can be taken with or without food.

Sitagliptin is contraindicated in patients with a known sitagliptin hypersensitivity, such as anaphylaxis, urticaria, angioedema, exfoliative dermatitis or other serious skin conditions (serious rash), including Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

The daily amount of this medicine equals to 100 mg and is taken once a day per os, independently the food intake, either including other antihyperglycaemic agents or under conditions of monotherapy.
