What is A Ret 0.05% Gel?
A Ret 0.05% Gel is a naturally occurring derivative of vitamin A and is used for the treatment of acne and reduce wrinkles of the face. It is also used to treat a type of cancer where the blood cells fail to mature.
A Ret 0.05% Gel Uses
- Tretinoincapsuleis used for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukaemia.
- Tretinoincream/gelis used for the treatment of acne, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin diseases.
- Tretinoin may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.
How does A Ret 0.05% Gel work?
Tretinoin belongs to the class of drugs called retinoids. Tretinoincapsuleworks by promoting the growth and maturation of blood cells in the bone marrow. Thus, it helps in reducing the symptoms of the condition.
Tretinoincream/gelworks by decreasing the adherence of follicular epithelial cells, which decreases the formation of blackheads. It also stimulates the mitotic activity, which helps in the growth of follicular epithelial cells. Thus, it causes extrusion of the blackheads.

A Ret 0.05% Gel Contraindications
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to tretinoin/isotretinoin/retinoids or any other component present in the dosage form.
A Ret 0.05% Gel Dosage
- Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then missed dose application can be skipped. Contact your doctor immediately if you miss an oral dose of this medicine.
- Overdose
Chances of an overdose with a topical application are very less. However, if the medicine is consumed orally then overdose may happen. Contact your doctor immediately in case of an oral overdose.

- Skin irritation
- Burning or tingling sensation of skin
- Red spots on skin
- Peeling and blistering of skin
- Patchy appearance of skin
- Photosensitivity of skin
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Fever with body pain
- Dry mucous membrane
- Blood cell disorder
- Difficulty in breathing
- Dizziness and fainting
- Coffee colored vomit
- Hearing loss
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
A Ret 0.05% Gel Warnings
Pregnancy
A-Ret 0.05% Gel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
A-Ret 0.05% Gel is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
The baby’s skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of A-Ret 0.05% Gel via licking.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of A-Ret 0.05% Gel in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
