Azelaic acid is a topical antibacterial lotion that helps the skin naturally renew itself a lot more quickly and efficiently, thus reducing the formation of pimples and blackheads. Given its antibacterial nature, it also kills bacteria that cause rosacea or acne in many patients. Azelaic Acid may also be used in the treatment of hair loss in case of both men and women.
Aziderm Gel (Azelaic Acid 10%) Uses?
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
How Does Aziderm Gel (Azelaic Acid 10%) work?
Azelaic acid works by killing the acne-causing bacteria and reduces inflammation (redness and swelling) of the skin.
How to take Aziderm Gel(Azelaic Acid 10%)?
- Tell all of your health care providers that you take azelaic acid cream. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
- It may take several weeks to see the full effects.
- If you use azelaic acid cream too often, your skin problem may become worse.
- Use of other skin products while using azelaic acid cream may cause more irritation.
- Talk with your doctor before you use other drugs or products on your skin.
- It is common to have skin irritation with azelaic acid cream. Skin irritation may include burning, itching, or stinging. Most of the time, skin irritation happened during the first few weeks after starting azelaic acid cream. Call your doctor if you have skin irritation that is very bad, bothers you, or does not go away.
- If you have asthma, use azelaic acid cream with care. Worsening of asthma has happened in people using azelaic acid cream. Call your doctor right away if your asthma gets worse while you use azelaic acid cream.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using azelaic acid cream while you are pregnant.

- Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to azelaic acid or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Aziderm Gel(Azelaic Acid 10%) Dosage
- Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
- Overdose
The likelihood of an overdose with a topical application is very low. However, if pronounced local irritation or symptoms such as severe skin rashes occur, discontinue therapy and contact your doctor immediately for further instructions. Also, seek immediate medical help if this medicine is taken by mouth in large quantities.
