What is Melanorm HC Cream?
Melanorm-Hc Cream is used to reduce the color of skin and remove any dark spots like age spots, freckles, and other skin discoloration associated with skin trauma, pregnancy, birth control pills, eczema, or hormone replacement therapy. Melanorm-Hc Cream acts as a skin-bleaching agent and works by inhibiting an enzyme reaction in the applied skin cells.
Mild burning, redness, stinging, and dryness may occur as side effects of using this medicine. Serious side effects that may occur include skin cracking, blistering, and blue-black darkening of the skin.
Before using this medicine, discuss with your doctor your medical history, especially if you have asthma, other skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Do not use the medicine if you have had allergic reactions to it.
It is recommended to apply this medicine to the affected areas of skin, generally twice every day or as directed by your doctor. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Avoid tanning booths, prolonged sun exposure, and sunlamps. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it.

How does Melanorm HC Cream work?
Melanorm-HC Cream is a combination of three medicines: Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Hydrocortisone which treat melasma. Hydroquinone is a skin lightening medicine. It reduces the amount of skin pigment that causes the darkening of the skin. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that helps the skin to renew itself more quickly. Hydrocortisone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy.
How to take Melanorm HC Cream?
If you have an allergy to hydrocortisone or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have a bad infection.
Melanorm HC Cream Contraindications:
- Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to hydroquinone or any other ingredient present with it.
- Sunburn
This medicine should not be applied to areas of the skin having sunburns.
Melanorm HC Cream Dosage:
- Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for the next scheduled application, then the missed dose can be skipped.
- Overdose
Contact your doctor if anyone has accidentally swallowed this medicine. Topical application in large quantities may not cause an overdosage.
