Description
Thyronorm 75 mcg tablet is similar to the hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It is primarily used to treat Hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce sufficient quantities of hormones. It is also used to treat certain other disorders associated with the thyroid gland.
Hypothyroidism
This medicine is used to treat a condition called hypothyroidism where the thyroid gland does not produce thyroid hormones in sufficient quantities.
Thyroid cancer
This medicine is used along with surgery and radioiodine therapy for the treatment of thyroid cancer. It is also used to treat or prevent an enlarged thyroid gland (goiter) associated with thyroid cancer or radiation therapy.
Myxedema coma
This medicine is used to treat a severe form of hypothyroidism known as myxedema coma. This condition is characterized by altered mental state, poor circulation, and poor metabolism. It is a life-threatening condition requiring immediate medical intervention.
Thyronorm 75mcg tablet is a synthetic version of a hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It works by replacing the thyroid hormones that your thyroid gland cannot produce and relieves the symptoms of hypothyroidism (tiredness, weight gain, and depression).
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Thyronorm 75mcg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Contraindicated in patients with untreated hyperthyroidism, recent heart attack and hypersensitivity.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost the time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose with this medicine is suspected. Symptoms may include a headache, shaking and trembling of hands and feet, nervousness, irritability, fast and pounding heartbeats, etc.
In addition to its intended effect, Thyronorm 75Mcg Tablet may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.
