Description
Thyronorm 25 mcg Tablet is similar to the hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It is primarily used to treat Hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce sufficient quantities of hormones. It is also used to treat certain other disorders associated with the thyroid gland.

Thyronorm 25mcg Tablet is a synthetic version of a hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It works by replacing the thyroid hormones that your thyroid gland cannot produce and relieves the symptoms of hypothyroidism (tiredness, weight gain, and depression).
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Thyronorm 25mcg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Thyronorm Tablets (Generic Synthroid) are contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to Levothyroxine sodium or to any of the inactive ingredients in Thyronorm tablets.
Levothyroxine Sodium is also contraindicated in patients with untreated subclinical (suppressed serum TSH level with normal T3 and T4 levels) or overt thyrotoxicosis of any etiology as well as in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Thyronorm (Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets) is contraindicated in patients with uncorrected adrenal insufficiency since thyroid hormones can precipitate an acute adrenal crisis by increasing the metabolic clearance of glucocorticoids.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost the time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose with this medicine is suspected. Symptoms may include a headache, shaking and trembling of hands and feet, nervousness, irritability, fast and pounding heartbeats, etc.

It is safe to use while you are pregnant. It is also safe to use while you are breast-feeding a baby. This drug does pass into breast milk but it is not expected to be harmful to a nursing infant.

1.I missed a dose of Thyronorm, what should I do?
If you have missed a dose by chance, try to use it as soon as possible when you notice. However, if the time is closer to your next dosage, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try not to take a double dosage.
2.I overdosed on the prescribed quantity of Thyronorm, what should I do?
If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Thyronorm, please talk to a physician immediately. Consuming more than prescribed quantity might cause serious side-effects.
3.Can Thyronorm be used along with alcohol?
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended when on Thyronorm. The interaction of this medicine & alcohol might increase the risk of side effects and may cause excessive drowsiness & calmness. In any case, do not take more than three glasses a day.
4.Can Thyronorm be used during Pregnancy or Breastfeeding?
Thyronorm 25mcg is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, you must consult a gynaecologist for more details before consuming the medicine.
