Treatment with Generic Zovirax (Acyclovir tablets) should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (such as tingling, burning, or blisters).
Take each dose with a full glass of water. Drink plenty of water while you are taking this medicine to keep your kidneys working properly. It can be taken with or without food. Taking this medicine with food may decrease stomach upset.
Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated. This medicine will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Lesions caused by herpes viruses should be kept as clean and dry as possible. Wearing loose clothing may help to prevent irritation of the lesions.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Acivir 400 mg DT Tablet Contraindications:
Generic Acivir 400 is contraindicated in sick person that have a hypersensitivity to Acyclovir or Valacyclovir or any inactive ingredient present in Acivir DT.

- Missed Dose:
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
- Overdose:
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Impaired kidney function – This Tablet DT is used with caution in the sick person with a severe kidney injury. Suitable dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.
Elderly population – This Tablet DT is used with caution in the elderly population with kidney injury or liver injury due to an increase in the risk of neurological problems. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical situation.
Pediatric population – The safety and efficacy of the oral formulation of Acivir 400 MG Tablet DT has not been established in children less than 2 years of age.
