It belongs to a class of antiviral medications called synthetic nucleoside analogs.

The liquid form of this medicine is also available; you just shake the bottle before opening it and then take an appropriate dose as your doctor directs. • Missed Dose:

If you miss a dose of Acyclovir, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

• Overdose:

Seek emergency medical cure or contact the doctor in case of an overdose. If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing.
