Susten 200mg Capsule is obtained from plant sources and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to correct menstrual disorders caused due to a deficiency of this hormone in the body. It is also used as a component in hormone replacement therapy and for maintenance of early pregnancy under specific circumstances.
Susten 200 mg Capsule Uses?
The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Use Susten 200mg Capsule as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the whole tablet/capsule. Do not crush or chew the tablet/capsule. Take the drug with food. Taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.
Apply a thin layer of Susten 200mg Capsule gel over the affected area and ensure the area is clean and dry before application.
Susten 200mg Capsule injection should be administered only under the medical supervision.
You must seek immediate medical care if you experience any of the above symptoms.
How does Susten 200 mg Capsule work?
Susten 200mg Capsule belongs to the class of drugs called steroid hormones. The drug acts by reducing the frequency of gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus by binding to the progesterone and oestrogen receptors. It also decreases the follicular maturation and ovulation by suppressing the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin.

Susten 200 mg Capsule Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, thrombophlebitis, cerebral apoplexy, severe hepatic impairment, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, incomplete abortion, hormone-dependent carcinoma, pregnancy
Susten 200 mg Capsule Dosage:
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Contact your doctor if you have missed more than one dose.
Overdose
Contact your doctor if an overdose is suspected. The short-term effects of an overdose could be a headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.

Susten 200 mg Capsule Warnings?
Pregnancy

Breast-feeding
Use of this medicine is not recommended if you are breastfeeding. This medicine can pass into the breast milk and may harm the nursing infant.
General warnings
Dizziness
Use of this medicine can cause dizziness and impair the ability to perform tasks requiring cognition and alertness. Caution is advised while driving or performing other tasks that demand a high level of mental alertness. You are advised to take the medicine at recommended times to avoid any such effect.
Breast cancer
Use of this medicine in conjugation with estradiol for hormone replacement therapy has been associated with instances of breast cancer and hence caution is advised. This medicine should be given with extreme caution to patients with a previous or active case of breast cancer.
Blood clotting disorders
Use of this medicine is not recommended for patients having a clotting disorder. It is advised to undergo a test to confirm if the medicine can be safely used. Report any instance of such disease to the doctor.
