Susten 300mg Capsule is a medication that is used in hormone replacement therapy. This means that it is orally administered into women’s bodies when they do not produce enough progesterone. It reduces menopause symptoms and the risk of cancer of the uterus.
It corrects menstrual disorders in women and can also be used as contraception. Susten 300 MG Capsule, belonging to a group of medications called Progestins, works by inducing some changes in endometrium and decreasing the level of estrogen in the uterus.

It helps in protecting the uterus from the negative effects of estrogen when used for the treatment of postmenopausal symptoms.
How to take Susten 300mg Capsule?
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Susten 300mg Soft Gelatin Capsule is to be taken with food.
Susten 300mg Capsule Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Susten 300 Capsule is a contraindication. In addition, Susten 300 Capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- Breast cancer
- Breastfeeding
- History of seizures
- Hypersensitivity
- Impaired liver functions
- Pregnant
- Thromboembolic disorders
- Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
Susten 300mg Capsule Dosage:
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Contact your doctor if you have missed more than one dose.
Overdose
Contact your doctor if an overdose is suspected. The short-term effects of an overdose could be a headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
This medicine is recommended for use in pregnancy only if the need is clinically established. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding
Use of this medicine is not recommended if you are breastfeeding. This medicine can pass into the breast milk and may harm the nursing infant.
General warnings
Dizziness
Use of this medicine can cause dizziness and impair the ability to perform tasks requiring cognition and alertness. Caution is advised while driving or performing other tasks that demand a high level of mental alertness. You are advised to take the medicine at recommended times to avoid any such effect.
Breast cancer
Use of this medicine in conjugation with estradiol for hormone replacement therapy has been associated with instances of breast cancer and hence caution is advised. This medicine should be given with extreme caution to patients with a previous or active case of breast cancer.
Blood clotting disorders
Use of this medicine is not recommended for patients having a clotting disorder. It is advised to undergo a test to confirm if the medicine can be safely used. Report any instance of such disease to the doctor.
Bleeding disorders
Use of this medicine is not recommended if you have severe undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
Fluid retention
Use of this medicine is known to cause mild to moderate amounts of fluid retention in the body. Hence, caution is advised while administering in patients with diseases like epilepsy, asthma, migraine, heart and blood vessel disorders, kidney impairment etc.
